Sookie (Anna Paquin) longs for a regular life in the second half of True Blood’s season, and she just may get one. But all hell breaks loose for everyone else as vampires and humans go to war. Who started it; who will finish it?
Some of the details were revealed in a new trailer on the second half of the season that debuted at Comic-Con in San Diego.
It’s hard to tell from the trailer alone which story lines will pan out and which are feints, but one thing is certain. Sookie at least entertains the idea of becoming totally human without her fairy powers.
What’s more if she makes the transition, she won’t remember vampires Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) or Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), King of the Louisiana vampires.
Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare) is continuing his rejuvenation and begins a killing spree of humans. Suddenly it’s open season on vampires. There are hints that Russell drinks Sookie’s blood as part of his rejuvenation.
Both Sam and Luna look like they survived. Luna was last seen dying on her lawn while Sam, also wounded, looked on. The next episode or two could mark their return. It will be interesting to see how they survived.
Russell is definitely the focus of the second half of the season, judging by the trailer. He’s causing all kinds of havoc, which should keep citizens of Bon Temps on their toes, as well as viewers.
