Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson played immortal lovers in “Twilight,” but their real-life relationship apparently has succumbed to sexual temptation, after reports Stewart had a sexual fling with Snow White director Rupert Sanders.
Not only did Stewart appear to have a fling, but the British director is married to model Liberty Ross, 33, who also starred in “Snow White and the Huntsman” as Queen Eleanor.
Pattinson, reportedly one of Hollywood’s hunkiest actors, was cuckolded by a man, who at 40 is roughly twice his age. Flings with older men are usually a subconscious cry to get out of a relationship.
In that sense, the news isn’t all that surprising. Stewart is only 22 and her “deep love” for Pattinson, 25, was mostly a tabloid fiction fostered by fan sites and gossip sites like HollywoodLife, eager to exploit their relationship.
Stewart is still finding herself as an actress and a woman, and that is often a recipe for indiscretion. She seems devastated by her actions, according to People. “Kristen is absolutely devastated,” a source told the magazine. “It was a mistake and a complete lapse in judgment.”
Stewart and Pattinson put on a brave show by appearing together at the Kids Choice Awards over the weekend as if nothing had happened. But there have been hints in interviews, especially by Kristen, that she and Rob were no Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in their own relationship.
“He worships her,” a source told ENews!. “He doesn’t think there is another woman on the planet who is as beautiful and kind as her. He wants to be with her 24/7, he wants to marry her…as far as he is concerned, Kristen is his perfect match…Kristen is perfect to him. That’s why he’s always known that someday she would be his wife.”
Obviously the feelings aren’t totally mutual. In fact, the true extent of their relationship is unknown. They have never really talked about it, leaving it subject to conjecture by fans and tabloid gossip magazines.
The pair are just gearing up to promote the final film in the “Twilight” series, “Breaking Dawn, Part 2.” Stewart and Pattinson both said they were looking to break away from their image as Bella and Edward. If that’s true, this will surely accomplish it.
