Hunky Ryan Lochte Is Undisputed Heartthrob of London Olympics

Nineteen-time Olympic medalist Michael Phelps has etched his name in the history books as the greatest Olympian of all time, but hunky Ryan Lochte is the undisputed heartthrob of the 2012 Summer Games.

At 6-foot-2 with eyes of blue, Lochte has won legions of fans for his athletic physique and laidback charm. But what makes Ryan a marketing dream from a sponsor’s point of view is his slackerish relatability coupled with his growing cache of Olympic medals (five gold, two silver, two bronze).

Unlike Phelps, 27, who’s planning to retire after the London Games, Ryan, 27, is amped to compete at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Lochte, who’s currently single, says one of his biggest mistakes was having a girlfriend while competing at the 2008 Beijing Games. With his bad-boy charm and chiseled good looks, there’s no doubt there will be plenty of girls wanting to keep him warm at night.

Despite his fame and sex-symbol status, Ryan finds the opposite sex completely baffling.

“It’s impossible to know what [women are] thinking,” he said. “If I could have one superpower, I’d be like Mel Gibson in “What Women Want,” where he reads women’s minds.”
