The 12 acts were brought on stage in three groups of four and competed against each other for one of the four slots. Among the other acts advancing were dance troupe Academy of Villains, singer/songwriter Bria Kelly and The Magic of Puck, a magician act.
The evening’s special guest was U.S. Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas, who won two gold medals at the 2012 London Olympics. She wore skin-tight pants and heels with her gold medals around her neck. She drew a standing ovation when she was introduced by host Nick Cannon.
Pop duo Karmin provided entertainment with performances of a mash-up of hit “Brokenhearted” and their latest single “Hello.”
Those eliminated last night included Cast in Bronze, Reverse Order, 7 in Unison, Rudy Coby, Eric Buss, Melinda Hill, Romeo Dance Cheetah and Drew Erwin.
