Rihanna’s taste in men has been pretty consistent until now. During shooting on her new film “Battleship,” the pop singer developed a major crush on actor Liam Neeson, who is 35 years older than her.
Neeson is a marked departure from her previous boyfriends Chris Brown, Los Angeles Dodgers baseball player Matt Kemp and rapper Drake.
Rihanna, who debuts on the big screen in the action-adventure movie this month, said she was starstruck when she met Neeson.
“I fell in love with him when I watched ‘Taken’ and I was so star-struck, I couldn’t even look at him on set,” she told Company magazine. “I just had to shut down completely.
“Then he asked me for a picture with him to send to his son and I was like, ‘Send me this picture, I want it too!'” she said.
Rihanna also had the hots for co-star Alexander Skarsgard. The Swedish actor stars in the television drama “True Blood.”
“Oh my god, he’s so hot! I mean, I went from gawking at him for hours every time I watched True Blood DVDs back-to-back on tour, then BOOM! He’s on set,” she said. “I told myself, ‘just breathe, act cool.’ Basically, I was acting on set and off set!”
Tabloid Web sites have reported that Rihanna is desperate to get back with Brown, who beat her savagely on the eve of the Grammys in 2009. But her brother refuted the reports. Rihanna has said she is single.
Rihanna has been on the road promoting the film with co-stars Brooklyn Decker and Taylor Kitsch.
Rihanna also revealed her love of tattoos. “I have an addictive personality and I LOVE tattoos. When I was 16 I was curious about them and started hanging out in tattoo shops in downtown New York, watching people get tattooed and pierced.
“I finally grew the balls to get one when I was 17 then started getting more. I still want another now!”
