Selena Gomez stopped by David Letterman’s “Late Night” to perform her new single “Come and Get It.” Last time she was on in March, she was all about making fun of Justin Bieber. This time she stuck to business amid reports the couple may have reunited.

Gomez, 20, was still sporting a Hindu bindi, despite protests for Indian groups that she “trivialized” an important religious symbol.

The Universal Society of Hinduism complained after she sported the bindi during a performance on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” and asked for an apology. But continues to wear the mark suggests one isn’t forthcoming.

According to followers of Hinduism, the chakra– the area of the forehead between the eyebrows–is the exit point for kundalini energy. The bindi is said to retain energy and strengthen concentration. It’s also used to mark different levels of India’s caste system.

Gomez is promoting her upcoming tour, which kicks off in Vancouver, Canada, and her new album. But much of her recent press has focused on her alleged reconciliation with Bieber.

She appeared on Z100’s “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” earlier in the day, and was asked about her alleged reunion. The couple was spotted together in Sweden.

“I’m in my twenties. I wanna have fun. I wanna enjoy my life and not have to worry about every single thing,” she replied, suggesting that there was less to the rumors than had been reported.

She also made a plea for some privacy. “I think I’ve actually given enough of myself, if that makes sense. I feel within my music, and even how I handle myself in interviews, people think they know, but they really actually don’t,” she said.

“In a way, I like to keep myself a little bit private, but at the same time people do assume things,” she added.
