Of course the agreement does nothing to protect him when he’s out in public, where most of his bad behavior has occurred.
Photos have gone viral of Bieber allegedly smoking pot and sampling street concoction sizzurp at parties. Both are illegal. The photos were apparently taken and circulated by his “friends.”
Now Biebs has let it be known in his waiver that tattling on him could result in a lawsuit for $5 million in damages, according to TMZ, which obtained the agreement. How he arrived at the figure is unknown. In any lawsuit, he would have to prove actual damages, not just make up some number.
And, if someone is disclosing illegal behavior, well, consider it a non-starter, agreement or not, for a legal case, according to legal sources. Nonetheless, the waiver specifically prevents Tweets, blogging and Instagram photos.
Bieber’s effort to muzzle reports about his bad behavior may also be nothing more than a tongue-in-cheek joke. The waiver warns that activities at his house parties are “potentially hazardous and you should not participate unless you are medically able and properly trained.”
It also warns that partygoers could be exposed to risks, including “minor injuries to catastrophic injuries, including death.” No word on whether spitting or death threats are included. Bieber is currently facing a potential criminal assault charge for both.
Is this guy’s 15 minutes of fame over yet?
