In what may be a first, cellphone-maker Nokia presented the trailer (yes, a trailer!), exclusively. The payoff comes around 1:05 into the 2:14 clip.
A Nokia handheld device gets its beauty shot in a scene involving some kind of government control room. You can’t miss the phone. It’s directly in the center of the scene. Sheesh…
Even in one of the most widely anticipated blockbusters of the summer, Warner Bros. still places commercialism over artistic integrity. But that’s the price you have to pay these days. Hollywood leaves no financial source untapped making a big-budget picture.
Other than that, the clip provides a quick synopsis of the movie’s salient parts, from the destruction of Superman’s home planet to his showdown with General Zod played by Michael Shannon.
His biological father Jor-El, played by Russell Crowe, sends the infant Superman hurtling toward earth and an unknown fate. He lands on the farm of Jonathan and Martha Kent (Kevin Costner and Diane Lane).
But the real star is the special effects. The clip is loaded with them. The “Man of Steel” opens next week. Check out the trailer below, let us know your thoughts and follow TheImproper on Twitter for all the latest movie updates.
