Monteith, 31, was found dead by workers in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver, Canada July 13, after a casual night of partying with friends.
Despite a clean-cut image, Monteith had struggled with drug addiction since his teen years and had spent at least one stint in rehab when he was 19.
“We should also say at this point there is absolutely nothing, at this point no evidence to suggest that this is anything other than the most sad and tragic accident,” McLintock said.
Monteith was born and raised in Canada and played Finn Hudson on the show. He was dating Lea Michele, 26, who also stars on “Glee.”
His death was confirmed Saturday night by Vancouver police, according to several news reports. No foul play is not suspected in his death although the coroner’s inquiry is continuing, according to McLintock.
Monteith had been staying at the hotel for a little over a week. He checked in July 6 and was scheduled to depart on July 14. He was last seen Friday (July 12) returning to his hotel after a night of partying with friends.
