Vonn was married for four years to to first husband and former coach Thomas Vonn. Their breakup in 2011 made tabloid headlines.
And, that was enough of marriage for her, she tells Vogue magazine in a new interview. Sounds like there was a hint of bitterness in her comments.
“I don’t talk to him (Thomas). Honestly, I wouldn’t take anything back,’ she told the magazine. “It was good for me and I was happy for a period of time and I learned a lot about myself,” she said.
She blames the end of her marriage on mixing her career with her personal life. “It definitely did not work for me, and I would not recommend it. I would also not recommend getting married! I am definitely not getting married (again). To anyone,” she said.
Wow, wonder how Tiger feels about that? Then again, after his painful split from his wife, Swedish beauty Elin Nordegren, he may feel the same way. His father was married twice.
Vonn is recovering from a devastating injury to her knee suffered at the 2013 World Championships in Schladming, Austria. The four-time World Cup championship winner and 2010 Olympic Gold Medalist in the downhill race, vows to be ready for the 2014 Olympics.
She met Woods at a charity event and says they “immediately clicked.”
“We talked a lot, corresponded a lot, and he was a good friend who was always there. And then it became more,’ Lindsey explains. ‘It’s amazing. Life changes very quickly, in a very positive way, if you let it,” she says.
She says she intends to ski at least through the 2015 World Championships in Vail, Colo.
