Moretz, 16, absolutely looks the part both as the shy high schooler who is dominated by a religious fanatic mother (Julianne Moore) and as demonic Carrie.
Carrie is bullied at school and mercilessly tormented by her psychotic mother. She nears the breaking point until she accidentally discovers that she has telekinetic powers when she gets mad. So what does she do? She gets even.
The new 33-second television flashes through various scenes to give an overview of the movie, including the penultimate moment.
Carrie Moretz Sinfully Sexy in W Magazine
Carrie is doused in pig’s blood in front of her classmates in a cruel prank after she’s been named prom queen.
The jury is still out however, whether the movie will top the the 1976 cult classic and box office success. It’s still a favorite around Halloween time. Both movies are based on Stephen King’s 1974 novel by the same name.
The new movie’s best chance of trumping the original, which starred Sissy Spacek as Carrie, will be Director Kimberly Peirce’s use of modern special effects, and Mortez’s riveting performance. Moore could also be a scene stealer.
