George Zimmerman Wife Doubts Innocence in Trayvon Martin Case

Shellie Zimmerman appeared on the Today show and said she no longer trusts her husband, George Zimmerman.

Shellie Zimmerman, wife of Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman, is taking some shots of her own at her estranged husband, revealing her doubts for the first time about his innocence.

Shellie went to the mat for her husband during the trial and even lied on the stand to protect him. But now she’s singing a different tune.

‘I’m conflicted,” she told Matt Lauer on the “Today” show this morning (Sept 26).

“I believe the evidence but this revelation in my life has helped me take the blinders off. I think anyone would doubt that innocence because I don’t know the person I’ve been married to,” she added.

Her change of heart came after a domestic dispute during which Zimmerman was allegedly carrying a gun and threatened to shoot her. Police, however, did not find one on him when they arrived on the scene.

During the Lake Mary, Fla. altercation Sept. 9, she called 911 and later told police she touched his shirt and felt the gun, even though he never displayed it. She said he threatened to shoot her and baited her to come at him.

Because of his action, she says she can no longer trust him. For his part, Zimmerman said Shellie started the fight and assaulted him with an iPad. He took it from her and smashed it.

Shellie had filed for divorce on Sept. 5, claiming the marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

She was sentenced to one-year probation and 100 hours of community service for lying on the witness stand about family finances, while George was attempting to get bail.
