Would you believe the paparazzi made her, MADE HER, get drunk and then get behind the wheel of her car too intoxicated to drive?
That’s the novel legal defense her lawyer Mark Heller test drove today (Oct. 23) during a routine hearing into her case in Nassau County Circuit Court. (Someone should get him a drink.)
You may recall, Dina, 50, was stopped for speeding Sept. 12 on the Northern State Parkway just outside New York City on Long Island. Police discovered that she reeked of alcohol and a blood test showed a .20 content level, well above the limit to drive and drink legally.
But Heller said the paparazzi made her do it.

He argued that photographers are constantly dogging her because of her “celebrity” lifestyle.” The resulting stress caused her to drink excessively and get behind the wheel, according to gossip site TMZ.
“The circumstances leading to Dina’s arrest were largely impacted by ongoing daily stresses caused by you folks, the paparazzi, media attention and distorted tabloid character profiles,” said Heller citing a court-ordered evaluation.
“After meeting Dina and her family and witnessing the care, compassion and concern shared between family members, it is my hope that the courts will take the circumstances and challenges of Dina’s lifestyle under consideration in prosecuting this case,” he added.
For added effect, Dina was accompanied by her gray-haired mother, Ann Sullivan.
The report went on to say that Dina doesn’t abuse alcohol or appear alcohol dependent and has a clean driving record.
The paparazzi are blamed for a lot of things these days when it comes to celebrities, but this seems to be stretching the point. Heller previously represented Lindsay in her shoplifting case. She eventually fired him and pleaded no contest to the charge.
