The findings are contained in a new medical report commissioned by the actress’s father, Angelo Bertolotti, a reputed mob boss who was convicted on federal drug charges.
After the police closed their investigation based on the Los Angeles County coroner’s report, Bertolotti sued the state to obtain hair, blood and tissue samples to conduct an independent examination.
The tests turned up evidence of ten heavy metal compounds in Murphy’s system that are commonly found in rat poison and insecticides, according to the report.
“If we were to eliminate the possibility of a simultaneous accidental heavy metals exposure to the sample donor then the only logical explanation would be an exposure to these metals (toxins) administered by a third party perpetrator with likely criminal intent,” the report said.
The L.A. County Coroner concluded the actresses’s passing was “accidental” due to “community acquired pneumonia,” iron deficiency anemia,” and “drug intake,” according to TheImproper.
The drug was Vicodin, a moderate pain reliever, that is often abused.
She was found dead on Dec. 20 in the bathroom after feeling ill and vomiting violently. She reportedly complained about feeling sick and suffering from abdominal pains, both symptoms of poisoning as well as other maladies.
Bertolotti said he was suspicious about the death, even though he had been estranged from his daughter for eight years. He divorced her mother when Brittany was just two years old, according to gossip site radaronline.
Husband Simon Monjack came under suspicion, but was ruled out as a suspect after her death was determined to be accidental. He was found dead just five months after her.
After his demise, information was discovered on his personal laptop computer that he was making large payments overseas and may have had two love children by separate women, whom he was supporting.
Whether the case will be reopened for a criminal investigation is unknown at the moment. Stop on top of this story by following TheImproper on Twitter.
