Photographer Nan Goldin was present for the filming of his Dior short film.
She had the rare opportunity to capture all of his varied looks in photographs, which have now been published in a new photo book, “Robert Pattinson: 1,000 Lives.”
The photos are raw, contemplative, sexual and passionate.
In an interview, she said she was inspired by art.
“One of the starting points was the portrait of the artist painter Paul Cadmus by Luigi Lucioni exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum,” she said in a recent interview. “Same brown hair, same blue eyes, Robert has something of this boy.”
The painting became a symbol of the Jazz Age in much the same way that Pattinson is becoming iconic for his generation.
