“What’s sex mommy?” he reportedly asked afterward.
Yelton, who attends the Lincoln School of Science and Technology, is a precocious lad, no question about that.
He’s been in his fare share of hot water at school, including getting called on the carpet for rough-housing and previously kissing the same 6-year-old classmate. And, he’s been warned about acting out.
But mom Jennifer Saunders is livid the school system for charging her son with “sexual harassment,” essentially a crime reserved for adults in workplace situations.
“This is taking it to an extreme that doesn’t need to be met with a six-year-old,” Hunter’s mom told the local CBS News affiliate (see below). “Now my son is asking questions: What is sex mommy?”
But the little girl’s mother, Jade Masters-Ownbey, is backing the school, because she said her daughter was “uncomfortable” with Hunter’s attention.
For its part, school officials say they warned Hunter repeatedly to behave and this is at least the second time he’s kissed the girl. Another little boy who was in the same boat got the message, but Hunter didn’t.
“After they got in trouble, one boy stopped but the other boy apparently didn’t get it,” Masters-Ownbey told the local Canon City Daily Record.
“I had to put restrictions on her about which she was allowed to be around at school. I’ve had to coach her about what to do when you don’t want someone touching you, but they won’t stop.”
