So much for “reality.” But that’s the way it went down when sister Kim Kardashian ended her marriage to Kris Humphries after just 72 days in 2011.
Humphries went from lovable hunk before the marriage to overbearing lout after, and Kim trashed him on her reality show “Kourtney and Kim Take Miami.”
The NBA star complained loudly that he was mis-portrayed on purpose to revive Kim’s tarnished image after her hasty divorce.
It later turned out that some scenes on the “reality” show were faked or re-created to build the story line. After sparring for more than a year in court, the two settled their divorce without going to trial.
Khloé, 29, has been going through a months-long drama over the break-up of her marriage, which was ill-founded from the get-go. Khloe and Lamar were married after dating for only two months. She filed for divorce Friday (Dec. 13).
Legendary Lakers coach Phil Jackson called the marriage “an arrangement” and the beginning of Lamar’s downward spiral.
As always, part of the Kardashians’ problem is perception. Khloé portrayed her marriage as rock solid and became a poster girl for a successful marriage in tabloid magazines. But it seems the marriage was shaky almost from the outset.
Now all that’s left is the deconstruction of Lamar.
Despite Khloe’s tears and hand-wringing, going public with a new relationship the day she filed for divorce suggests she wasn’t all that into the marriage either.
