She released two of the videos for songs “Drunk in Love” and “XO,” this afternoon (Dec. 16), without explanation, a present for fans who have yet to buy the album.
Fans who have already shelled out $16 for her “visual album” might be feeling a little pee-o’ed, however. They’re paying for something everyone else is getting for free. The set includes 14-tracks and 17 never-seen-before videos.
The 32-year-old singer is the first to create a so-called “visual album.” If the experiment is successful–and so far it is–full videos for each song may only be available in the future as part of a package with sons at a premium price.
Beyonce released 30-second teaser videos instead.
Whether the R&B singer plans to release other videos through sharing sites like Vevo and YouTube remains to be seen.
She released the clip for “Drunk in Love” earlier today and followed up with the release of the video for her song “XO.”
Shot at New York’s decaying seaside theme park, Coney Island, it shows Beyonce hanging out with fans at the amusement park. As if she’d ever go there in real life. Still it’s a charming clip.
