Patton, 38, was Thicke’s arm candy for the night at Clive Davis’s Pre-Grammy Gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
He’s up for “Record of the Year” and “Best Pop Vocal Album” among the major Grammy Awards.
Thicke caused an uproar last year when he released a video for the song that featured topless women prancing across the set while he and contributors Pharrell Williams and T.I. ogled them.
Of course, “hottest bitch in this place,” is a line from the song.
He was criticized by feminist groups for misogyny and sexually objectifying women. But the video scorched the Internet and has been viewed more than 259 million times on YouTube.
Thicke ignited another firestorm at the MTV Music Video Awards last August when he cavorted with Miley Cyrus on stage in a duet of his song. Miley’s twerking became an Internet meme.
Despite the uproar, Paula was totally cool with the show and a bit flabbergasted by the ensuing controversy.
“You know what’s so funny, he finished it, I said, ‘That’s great, you guys killed it,’ gave him a hug; woke up the next morning, it was like… I got all these texts, like, ‘praying for you,’ Hey, I’m here for you.’ I’m like what? Whoa, what is everybody doing..?” she said on the Today Show last September.
Paula’s gown was designed by Mireille Dagher. She accessorized with Christian Louboutin shoes, a Saint Laurent bag, and David Yurman jewelry.
