Ratajkowski, 22, was tapped by Revolve for their spring 2014 campaign and catalog.
Revolve owner Michael Mente gushes about her. “Selecting Emily was an easy decision as she perfectly embodies our girl,” he said in a statement. She is sexy and stylish.
“After getting to know her as a veteran Revolve model, it became clear that she was not only beautiful, but ambitious and confident – everything that our customer values and aspires to be,” he added.
Indeed, it takes a special confidence to prance topless in a music video destined to be viewed by millions. But she took the whole thing in stride.
“I think there’s different kinds of nudity, and there’s different kinds of sexiness,” she said in an interview with Esquire. She described her role in the video as “being silly and a little sarcastic.”
The hoopla surrounding Thicke’s video–it was briefly banned from YouTube–overshadow her role in another music video for Maroon 5’s “Love Somebody.”
It debuted in May and has been viewed more than 37 million times.
That’s actually 7 million more views than Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” released two months earlier. It’s been seen 30 million times.
Although the latter put her on the map, Ratajkowski is a veteran model and actress. She was signed as by Ford Models at 14 and appeared in two episodes of Nickelodeon’s “iCarly.”
She’ll appear in Director David Fincher’s “Gone Girl,” with Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike and Neil Patrick Harris. The film is slated for release in October.
In her Revolve photo spread, she wears designs by Paige Denim, IRO and Lovers+Friends.
