Trisdon was gunned down, after she made it as far as the home’s front porch in one of the grisliest murders in recent memory.
Michael Worsham, 43, a security guard at a local high school, went on the unexplained rampage Sunday (Jan. 2) at his home in Robbins, Ill., a Chicago suburb.
Robbins Police Chief Mitchell Davis said Worsham shot and killed his 17-year-old son, Steven, in the kitchen before rousing his wife, Michelle Ollie, 42, from bed and shooting her.
The stepson, 14, tried to wrest the gun from his father, but stopped fighting, after Worsham said he could leave the house unharmed. He grabbed his five-year-old nephew and told Trisdion to run for the door.
But the father shot her in the back on the front doorstep. He shot her again outside and also fired at horrified neighbors, who witnessed the killing. He disappeared back in the house dragging Trisdion’s body behind him, according to CNN.
Michael Worsham was later found dead by police inside the house. His body showed no signs of gunshot wounds.
He’d been married for 12 years and no previous incidents of domestic violence had been reported at the house, police said.
“I can tell you this, he’s not a monster. I know he loved his children. He was a good family man,” Cousin Toni Gardner told CNN. “Again, something snapped.”
So far, police haven’t established a motive for the slayings.
