Married to English actor Orlando Bloom, Kerr gave birth to son, Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom, in 2011, which also helped anchor her hectic life.
Spiritually, she practices Nichiren Buddhism, a pacifist religion that preaches the need for peace and harmony in the world and in individuals.
“My life is more balanced than ever,” she tells the magazine.
“There was so much rejection in the beginning. Models are some of the most insecure people I’ve ever met. They’re constantly being told they’re not good enough. You’ve really got to practice loving yourself,” she advises.

Kerr possesses remarkable natural beauty. She’s been turning heads since she won a model competition in Australia in 1997. She was just 13-years-old and the photo spread that went along with the prize caused controversy because of her young age.
Although she exudes vulnerability and an innocent sexuality, she’s tough when she needs to be.
“I’m a lot stronger than people think. I started my own company, invested my own money in it, and have been involved in every facet. I’m that person who says, no matter what the problem is, there’s a solution,” she says.
But that doesn’t mean she can’t be “girlie” when she wants to be. “Don’t feel like you have to do and be everything,” she advises. “When I get home, I’m not the boss like I am at work – I slip into a more feminine role.
I take everything off and put on my Stella McCartney silk robe. I’ll put on a red lip or red nails, and it lifts my mood. Sexy underwear also gives you a spark. I collect underwear from my travels. Lace, lingerie, bodysuits…they’re like souvenirs.”
