Phoenix Keating found a muse in Lady Gaga. The pop singer wore two of his designs during impromptu performances in Sydney in 2011 and his label has been on fire ever since.

He showed at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia today (Apr. 7), with new designs and even more acclaim than he had last year when he debuted on the runways.

Clothes from his debut caught the eye of the fashion press, which led to an invitation to stage a presentation in New York City. He showed in the Big Apple last October to rave reviews.

His latest installment is inspired by Conchita Citron, the first female bullfighter, who was also known as “La Diosa de Oro,” or “Golden Goddess.”

The collection draws from the garb of the Matador or “Traje De Luces,” according to his official bio.

Using his signature 1950s silhouette, Keating creates a collection that is ultra chic and ultra wearable. Utilizing modern fabrications such as neoprene as well as LED lights, “La Diosa de Oro” explores a Spanish frame of dressing with an eye toward exciting the senses.
