Julia Saner, a fresh-faced model from Switzerland, has been climbing steadily in fashion, following her win, at 17, in the 2009 International Elite Model Look contest. Now, she’s working for top brands, including Armani Jeans.
She appears in the Armani catalog for fall 2011.
In the black-and-white photo shoot, she wears cool outerwear, simple tees, boots, denim jeans and barely anything at all.
She follows actress Megan Fox, who repped for Armani jeans for spring/summer 2011.
Her contest win landed her an automatic contract with Elite Paris, which led to her signing with Paul Rowland’s new Ford Models editorial division in 2010.

During the spring 2011 shows, Saner was under the radar. She passed on New York and London fashion week.
But she debuted in Milan for Gucci. She also appeared for Fendi and Roberto Cavalli.
From there, she joined Freja Beha and Caroline Brasch Nielsen for Valentino, where she was signed as one of the label’s spring 2011 faces.
Julia grew up in Bern, the capital of Switzerland with a brother, step-brother and step-sister.
As a relative newcomer to the industry, she told New York magazine that one of the hardest things to deal with are the stereotypes.
“There are so many prejudices about being a model. For example, the assumption that models are dumb and that most have not graduated from school,” she said.
“Conversely, the notion that models have this easy, luxurious jet-set lifestyle and don’t have to do more work than standing and looking pretty in front of the camera.
“Those are so far from the truth. This career is a lot of work and you have to be smart to really succeed,” she said.
