Crystal Renn has her skinny on for a daring new photo shoot for the March issue of Numéro China. She went through the weight-debate wringer after slimming down from a plus-size 14 two years ago to a size six now.
Since losing weight, the 5’9″ beauty has appeared in the widely publicized Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. But she’s drawn fire from the plus size community and Plus Model Magazine, where she was once its poster girl.
Renn attributed her weight loss to the “horrible breakup” of her two-year marriage to longtime partner Gregory Vrecenak in 2009. She also said she stepped up hiking and yoga.

“When this whole weight loss thing happened, I think that a lot of people wanted to point their finger at somebody,” Renn said in interview on the blog of her agency. “I think that they wanted to find a conspiracy where there absolutely was none.”
Renn is a veteran of the fashion industry’s model weight controversy. She was recruited at 14 and signed a $250,000 modeling contract.
She was told to lose weight if she hoped to get work. After a crash diet and eight hours a day in the gym, she whittled herself down to a scant 95 pounds.
By then though she was anorexic. She kicked the affliction after she turned 18.

She gained 25 pounds and started a career as a plus-size model. She wrote about her struggle in her 2009 book, “Hungry,” and became a leading advocate against too-thin models.
“Everyone rallied around her and now she’s turned against us,” Plus Model Magazine Editor-in-Chief Madeline Jones told gossip site RadarOnline earlier this year. “We have been betrayed by her.”
For her Numero shoot, Renn is photographed in sexy lingerie styles by Txema Yeste. Tim Lim handles styling.
The shoot took place in Los Angeles, with Renn in revealing ensembles from Alexander McQueen, Emporio Armani, Lanvin and Sportmax. Check out the video below and her exotic images above.
