Carey Mulligan to Star Opposite Ryan Gosling in Drive 1UK Actress Carey Mulligan and Ryan Gosling are reportedly in line to star in  “Drive,” an action-adventure flick about a down-on-his-luck Hollywood stunt man who is on the run with a mobster’s doll.

Mulligan, 25, will appear on the big screen in September in “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.” She plays Wall Street mogul Gordon Gekko’s estranged daughter opposite Shia LaBeouf.

She is probably best known in the United States for her Oscar nominated role in “Education” about an impressionable young woman who falls under the spell of art thieves.

Mulligan will also appear in “Never Let Me Go,” which will be screened at the Toronto Film Festival ahead of its theatrical release through Fox Searchlight Sept. 15.

Drive is based on a novel by James Sallis, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Nicolas Winding Refn is directing the adaptation

The story follows a nameless Hollywood stuntman (Gosling) who moonlights as a freelance getaway driver during robberies.

When a bank heist goes wrong, he ends up on the run with a contract on his head and an ex-con’s girlfriend (Mulligan) in his car, according to the Reporter.

“Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston is a possibility for a role in the film.

Cranston has won back-to-back Emmys for his work on AMC’s “Breaking Bad” and is up for a third on August 29.

He is currently in production on the Michael Connelly adaptation “The Lincoln Lawyer,” and he recently wrapped shooting on Tom Hanks‘ “Larry Crowne” and Andrew Stanton’s “John Carter of Mars.”
