Lars Van Trier’s exploration of girls who do, and do, and do, has so many sexually charged metaphors in a new one-minute teaser trailer that it’s hard not to bust out laughing. Is he really serious? Are girls really like this? Or is this purely a male fantasy?

The movie is hotly anticipated because Shia LaBeouf and co-star Mia Goth engage in real sex on-screen.

It’s not exactly ground-breaking.

“Blue is the Warmest Color,” this year’s winner of the prestigious Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, involved full-on sex between two women, French actresses Adele Exarchopoulos and Lea Seydoux.

Von Trier also reportedly filmed Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg having actual, uncensored sex during a love scene in the 2009 movie “Antichrist.”

And, Mickey Rourke had real sex during a scene with actress Carre Otis in the 1990 movie “Wild Orchid.”

But reports of on-screen sex (other than porn) go back even further than that.

In the 1973 thriller, “Don’t Look Now,” Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie reportedly had actual sex during a scene shot on a closed set. The actors later denied it, but a witness swore it was true.

The “Nymphomaniac” teaser focuses on two girls having a contest to see how many random men they can have sex with while on a train trip. The adventurous one, named “B” (Sophie Kennedy Clark) says a bag of chocolate sweets will be the prize.

British modelStacy Martin plays “Joe,” a shy girl who is just starting to explore her sexuality. The contest is likened to fishing as B instructs Joe on how to lure a man to a bathroom to have sex. Gainsbourg, 41, pops up in this movie, as well, as an older Joe.

Footnote: Yeah, it’s a male fantasy.
