The clip is part of the package for the “Thor: The Dark World” Blu-ray release next month. But Marvel provided an early look at the clip today (Jan. 16).
In the clip, the setting is a high-security prison and a reporter named Jackson Norris, played by Scoot McNairy, is on his way to interview Slattery.
He muses in a voice over that “the most infamous prisoner in America, a man that the world thought was a terrorist known as ‘The Mandarin,’ but is now alleged to be nothing but an actor.”
Norris also wonders whether it was all a publicity stunt. “He seems oblivious to pretty much everything, except his own growing celebrity — because now, the whole world knows his name,” says Norris.
“This is my last chance to go beyond the lies and excuses, to confront the subject with elements of his own past in order to unlock the truth. Because we need to know once and for all: Who is Trevor Slattery?” he ponders.
Yep, sounds like a spin-off is possible. Marvel has made films about its superheroes, why not a film from the company’s stable of arch-enemies?
The full 14-minute film “All Hail the King” is expected with the DVD release Feb. 25.
