Vandervoort, 29, is best known in the United States for her role in “Smallville,” which ran for 10 seasons on the CW network.
She played Kara, Clark’s Kryptonian cousin. She was sent to look after him on earth, but landed in suspended animation for 18 years. When she finally escaped in the Season Six finale, she became Super Girl with all Clark’s powers.
Her career began in Canadian television and she eventually land the lead role in the hit CTV television series “Instant Star,” which aired for four seasons.
Laura scored her first American big-screen role in the 2006 film “The Lookout,” with Jeff Daniels, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Matthew Goode and Isla Fisher.
In her latest role, She plays Elena Antonov Michaels, a werewolf in the Syfy channel’s “Bitten,” a show based on Kelley Armstrong’s novel by the same name. The show debuted last month.
She’s also shooting another film titled “The Coffee Shop.”
