Kate Walsh stars along with Billy Bob Thorton, Allison Tolman and Martin Freeman in a new trailer featuring the first seven minutes of FX’s new series “Fargo.” It’s a new crime, same dark comedy.

The 10-episode limited-run series is based on the Academy Award winning 2006 crime film by the same name, except the cast, characters and plot are all different.

The new series, however, retains the original picture’s dark-comedy, crime-theme and “Minnesota nice” humor, according to the production’s Web site.

In the series, Thornton plays neer-do-well character Lorne Malvo, a rootless, manipulative man who meets and forever changes the life of a small Minnesota town.

The show debuts Apr. 15. Until then get a taste of the action from the trailer below and be sure to follow TheImproper on Twitter for the latest television news.
