Andrew Garfield is reprising the role of Spider-Man made famous by Tobey Maguire in 2007 and Columbia Pictures has released the first photo of Garfield as the web-swinger. It’s decidedly different from the old Spidey.
Chris Evans has also surfaced in a photo in his Captain America suit. He’ll be appearing in “Captain America: The First Avenger” this summer as superhero franchises continue to roll up big bucks at the box office.
Maguire played Spiderman in three hit movies, but the latest sequel will get a total reboot from the last Spider-Man movie in 2007.
The film, directed by Marc Webb also stars Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.

Garfield says he is working up to the role. “I want to feel stronger that I’ve ever felt, and I want to feel more flexible,” he told Details magazine.
“I want to feel powerful. You don’t want to just be a pack of meat — it has to be an open body. It does something to your psyche, and it does something to the way you move,” he explained.
Filming is currently underway in Los Angeles, and Spider-Man is set to be released in 2012.
In Captain America, Evans plays Steve Rogers, who takes up the superhero cause during World War II.
Producers decided to go with an authentic looking cloth costume, as opposed to spandex, which wasn’t invented yet. Smart move. Captain America looks period, but still futuristic in a 1940s sort of way.
Sebastian Stan plays sidekick, James “Bucky” Barnes.
