Lizzie Olsen (Mary-Kate's Sis) Indie Film Goes National (watch)

Lizzie Olsen (Mary-Kate's Sis) Indie Film Goes National (watch) 1Elizabeth Olsen, younger sister to fashion mavens, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, is getting her big break in a new indie film, “Martha Marcy May Marlene.” It could launch her into the stratosphere of Young Hollywood.

Mary-Kate and Ashley, of course, began their show business careers as infants on a hit television sit-com, but they have pretty much giving up on acting after bombing on the big screen.

Now they devote their time to fashion where they have charted success with their designs.

But there still seems to be a wealth of acting talent in the family, and Elizabeth, 22, who is better known as Lizzie, is drawing raves for her work.

“Martha Marcy May Marlene” was screened at Sundance Film Festival and has picked up a national distributor, which will provide her first wide exposure.

The film focuses on Martha (Olsen) an escapee of a cult who goes to live with her sister, but can’t quite break away from the leader’s charm or his attempts to lure her back.

John Hawkes, who was nominated for an Oscar last year for “Winter’s Bone” stars at the cult leader.

Mary-Kate and Ashley have done a lot to open doors for sister Lizzie

The New York University grad appeared in her sisters’ first movie, “Our First Video” at age 4.

She guest starred in Mary-Kate and Ashley’s direct-to-video series titled “The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley,” and she had a cameo in “How the West Was Fun,” another sister production.

Branching out on her own, she’s appearing in “Peace, Love & Understanding,” with Chace Crawford and two other upcoming films.

She’s also landed a small role in “Red Lights,” which stars Robert De Niro and Sigourney Weaver.
