Daniel Radcliffe gets the bejesus scared out of him in the new “Woman in Black” trailer, but it’s hard not to laugh when he chirps in that high-pitched voice “Who’s there?”
Radcliffe plays a London lawyer Arthur Kipps, who travels to the small, isolated village of Crythin Gifford to close out a dead client’s affairs.
The client, Alice Drablow, was an elderly, reclusive widow who lived alone in a secluded mansion, known as Eel Marsh House.
But is the woman really dead? She seems to materialize in an upstairs window of the grisly mansion at the most inopportune times.
The new trailer, which is longer than an earlier television spot and more tightly edited, adds some new info on the cast of characters, which includes Ciarán Hinds, Janet McTeer, Sophie Stuckey and Liz White.
Arthur stays in the house and hears the screams of a drowning child and sees decaying children listlessly wandering in the marshes.
The visions tie into a series of inexplicable deaths of children in the village, and eventually his own child is threatened.
The thriller is based on a novel by Susan Hill adapted by Jane Goldman. James Watkins directs.
It’s slated to open Feb. 3, 2012. Check out the new spot below:
