Navy Seals Take the Lead in Act of Valor Trailer (watch!) 1Navy Seals, one of the nation’s elite fighting forces take the lead in “Act of Valor,” a cinéma vérité treatment of anti-terrorism efforts that showcases “state-of-the-art” warfare in a new, updated trailer.

Roselyn Sanchez, Alex Veadov, Jason Cottle and Nester Serrano star in the Relativity Media picture.

Directed by Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh, and written by Kurt Johnstad, the film centers on a Navy Seal squad that embarks on a covert operation to rescue a kidnapped CIA Officer, while also neutralizing terrorists.

Filming mostly took place in Cambodia where an explosion was shot in Phnom Penh with 300 children as extras.

The crew also filmed at Navy training sites that simulate a drug cartel base, a terrorist camp on an isolated island, and a smuggler’s yacht, to provide realistic settings.

The film is a technology tour de force judging by the newly updated trailer. The Seals are shown working from submarines and aircraft carriers, down to crawling through dense forests to intercept their foes.

What it may lack is the fog of war that so often causes things to go wrong in combat.

Movies like “Black Hawk Down,” may more accurately portray what happens in the chaos of war, but sometimes the U.S. does get it right.

Just ask Osama bin Laden. Right, no longer possible.

You can bet the film is high on patriotism. It’s scheduled to be released on Feb. 17, 2012 to coincide with President’s Day.
