Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart Snubbed by MTV Awards 1Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were snubbed for major MTV Movie Awards, receiving only a single nomination for “best on-screen kiss.” But their movie, “Twilight Breaking Dawn, Part 1” at least got a nod.

In a sign that the “Twilight” film era is drawing to a close, Pattinson and Stewart were left out of the best male and female performance categories.

No other “Twilight” cast members were nominated and the film was snubbed for best cast.

In contrast, ‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, Part 2″ was nominated for best movie and Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe got nods for best female and male performance. Harry Potter was also nominated for best fight and best cast.

Among the other films receiving nominations, “Bridesmaids” and The Hunger Games were favorites. The films lead with eight nominations each.

Beside movie of the year honors, the films also include best female actor nominations for Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Wiig. Josh Hutcherson from Hunger Games also was nominated for best male actor.

Jennifer Aniston, Emma Stone, Emma Watson, Melissa McCarthy, Channing Tatum and Rooney Mara also received nods in the best actor categories.

“The Help,” the film that produced an Oscar for Octavia Spencer, also was snubbed. Bryce Dallas Howard was the only cast member nominated. She’s up for Best Dirtbag.

Rob and Kristen received their only nomination for best kiss, a category they’ve won before.

They’re up against Tatum and Rachel McAdams for “The Vow;” Lawrence and Hutcherson for “The Hunger Games;” Rupert Grint and Watson for “Harry Potter” and Ryan Gosling and Stone for “Crazy, Stupid, Love.”

In the best breakthrough performance category, Elle Fanning is in the running for “Super 8,” along with Melissa McCarthy for “Bridesmaids,” Liam Hemsworth for “The Hunger Games,” Mara for “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and Shailene Woodley for “The Descendants.”

Fans can vote for winners online starting this morning (May 1). Polls remain open until the awards show airs on June 3.
