“Mad Men’s” Jon Hamm and Daniel Radcliffe, of “Harry Potter” fame, share a bathtub in a new trailer for “Young Doctor’s Notebook,” a hilarious look at the practice of medicine in pre-revolutionary Russia.
The odd choice of subject matter is based on the semi-autobiographical writings of Russian writer and playwright Mikhail Bulgakov.
He chronicled his experiences working in Muryovo, a small village, at the dawn of the Russian Revolution in 1917. Radcliffe plays a younger version of Hamm’s doctor in the four-part comedy drama, which will air in Britain on the Sky Network.
“I have been an obsessive Bulgakov reader for a couple of years. The book is funny, grotesque and heartfelt in equal measure,” Radcliffe said of the work.
For his part, Hamm, 41, has been perfecting his English accent. “I have been watching “Bridget Jones’s Diary” on infinite loop, and I think I’ve finally got this accent thing sorted,” he said.
No word on whether it will makes its way to the United States.
