Zach Galifianakis, Giraffe in Tow, Hits Road in Hangover 3 Trailer

Zach Galifianakis returns for The Hangover, Part III.

Zach Galifianakis returns for The Hangover, Part III.

Zach Galifianakis kicks off the latest trailer for “Hangover, Part III,” with an “angelic” performance of “Ava Maria” at a funeral. His buddies, Bradley Cooper as Phil and Ed Helms as “Stu” look stunned. It’s a fitting start to one last madcap weekend back where it all began, Las Vegas.

The minute-long teaser for release in overseas markets, calls the movie “the epic conclusion” to the Hangover trilogy. The guys are out to burn down the town and somehow that involves a giraffe.

The death of Alan’s (Galifianakis) father triggers the latest escapade. The Wolfpack reassembles to help Alan get over the grief and what better way than a road trip. “The Wolfpack is all he has,” said Director Todd Phillips in a recent interview.

Ken Jeong as Mr Chow, Melissa McCarthy, John Goodman and Heather Graham co-star. Although Jeong was a scene stealer in the previous Hangover movies, Goodman and McCarthy give him a run for is money in the latest flick.

“Someone needs to burn this place to the ground,” a voice-over says as the guys off-load their bags from a van in Vegas. “Don’t worry, it all happens tonight,” says another.

The trailer flashes through snippets of scenes including an insane prison riot where the inmates strip and Galifianakis roars down the freeway in his convertible towing a trailer with a giraffe.

The formula is tried and true; the only question is whether Hangover, Part III has a chance of outperforming the first two movies, which are the most successful R-rated comedy films in history. Together the films have grossed more than a half a billion dollars.
