Miley Cyrus showed up at NBC’s Today Show ready to sing and belted out her latest song “Wrecking Ball,” and threw in an old favorite, “Party in the USA,” which helped launch her singing career.

Her latest album Bangerz hits streets tomorrow (Oct. 8), and sales are expected to skyrocket.

Miley, in a sense, is completing her promotional arc for the record that began with her off-the-charts performance on the MTV Video Music Awards. More than a month after the show aired, Miley is still fielding questions about the controversial performance.

Her raucous dancing and twerking in a scanty, flesh-colored latex bikini in a duet Robin Thicke for his song “Blurred Lines” sparked a heated debate about Miley’s changing and highly sexualized image and the direction of pop culture in general.

She was not only scantily clad, but made several lewd gestures with a giant foam finger, including jabbing Thick’s crotch.

Her “Today” show appearance wrapped up a whirlwind weekend in New York City that began with an appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” which was delayed because of an NFL football game.

Bangerz is Cyrus’s fourth studio album. She calls the sound “Dirty South Hip Hop.”
