Taylor Swift dances like a wild whirling dervish in a new commercial for Apple’s new iPhone streaming music app. It lets you customize playlists for all kinds of occasions. In this case, Taylor chooses a song from her “getting ready to go out” list and reverts to her middle school years.

Swift is all arms, legs and headbanging as she lip-syncs to Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle,” the second single off their fourth album, 2001’s Bleed American.

“Oh my god, I love this song! Used to listen to this in middle school!” she gushes as she swipes to load the tune. She’s got that right. Taylor would have been all of 12-years-old when the song debuted.

Swift starts to apply her lipstick, but before long she’s dancing like nobody’s watching… except we all are, baffled by how she can look so sexy jumping around so spasmodically.

It’s hard to believe only last year the 26-year-old singer was at war with Apple over the music service’s plan to withhold artist royalties during a three-month, free trial period being offer to new subscribers.

She refused to grant Apple rights to her album, 1989, until it changed its policy, which the giant corporation promptly did. Apple not only made peace, but hired Swift to promote the service.

Her first Apple ad, “Taylor Vs. Treadmill,” was released April 1. She took what looked like a painful face plant for the brand.

This one is aptly called “Taylor Mic Drop.” It’s a play on her use of lipstick as a mic. Of course, she fumbles and drops it at the end of the spot.
