Lorde, the New Zealand singing sensation, is teaseing plans to drop a new song on Friday (June 6) from her widely anticipated sophomore album Melodrama. Her debut album, 2013’s Pure Heroine was an international success.

Lorde, real name Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, shared some lyrics to the track with her 4.8 million Twitter followers last night (May 30) on Twitter .

“Every night, I live and die,
Feel the party to my bones.”

The song would be the second single from the album: She announce zero hour for the release: “Friday, June 2nd 2PM NYC 6AM NZ”

The 20-year-old singer said he new song is her being “sexy and a young woman now.” She was only 16 when she broke out with Pure Heroine.

“It’s like, ‘Oh, shit, I can’t be kind of sexy if I want to for a second? Everything I do has to be, like, ‘library girl’?” she said.

“That [first album] felt like a kid. This feels like a young woman. I can hear the difference,” she added.

Lorde debuted a more sensuous sound with songs off her new album at the Coachella festival. The break-up inspired tunes conjured up Taylor Swift, but had enough indie-rock edge to keep the New Zealand singer’s integrity intact.

The sound was heavily influenced by her failed relationship with James Lowe, a New Zealand photographer and long-time boyfriend.

“It was my first major heartbreak,” she said in a recent interview. “It’s not something that I really am used to writing about. It took me a while to be able to figure out how to write about that.”

But Lorde admitted even in her 20s she doesn’t think she is can write about breakups.

“I don’t think you can sing about love or about breakups in such a sort of full way at 20,” she said.

“After your heart is broken, music enters you on a new level. You suddenly find yourself crying when ‘Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart’ comes on.”

The heartfelt song is by Alicia Keys.

Melodrama is slated for release June 16.
