Taylor Momsen never gets out of her tank top and panties in the new video for her moody ballad “You.” It’s a departure from her usual hard-edged rock, where she’s banging out tunes on stage and variously taking off her clothes.
Momsen and her band, The Pretty Reckless, will open for the North America leg of Marilyn Manson’s tour, and the singer says she’s been hold up rehearsing.
She cleaned up her act long enough to make a sexy appearance at the Marchesa show at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday (Feb. 15).

She wore a stunning black lace dress by the brand, toned down her makeup and wore her hair in a semi-orderly swept up style.
Momsen is working so hard at being a “rock star,” she kind of grows on you. Anybody who wants it that bad deserves some sympathy. In that sense, she is kind of a throwback to Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders, who also cultivated a rock star image.
In the video, she’s filmed through a soft-focus lens looking wistful and vulnerable as she reminisces about an old boyfriend. Her apartment is shabby chic. With at least three huge rooms, it can’t be in Manhattan, or she’s paying $3,600 a month in rent.
In any event, she rummages through a cardboard box and pulls out a reel of 16mm film. God knows where that came from, as well as the projector. But she fires it up and flashes the black-and-white footage on the wall, presumably her and her former lover.
Momsen stretches and squats in the flickering light while she sings. The video also cuts to scenes of her sitting on the floor strumming a guitar and close ups of her face with hurtful and longing expressions.
