Green Day's 'Oh Love' Video an Ode to the Crotch (watch!)

Green Day's 'Oh Love' Video an Ode to the Crotch (watch!) 1Green Day caves in to materialism in its first video from rock trilogy ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! It’s fill with hot babes, eating hot pasta. Or is this just a parody? You never know with Billie Joe Armstrong. Just call the video an ode to the crotch.

The band, so long identified with hard rock and revolution, offers a taste of sartorial splendors in the clip for single “Oh Love.”

The video shows the band on a sound stage getting ready to play, surrounded by gorgeous fetish models, languidly looking sexy and ogling each other. But, this is Green Day not Aerosmith. So, chalk up this scene as a parody of rock and roll stereotypes.. and excess.

“‘Oh Love’ is kind of like leading with your heart and not necessarily with your brain as much,” Armstrong told MTV, which debuted the clip. “And [also] kind of maybe losing your mind, and shooting a little bit more from the crotch area.”

The song, “Oh Love,” is sure to please the band’s power-pop fans. The tune dropped July 16, and marked a turn back to basics, according to the band.

“The first [album] is power pop,” Armstrong told Rolling Stone. “The second is more garage-y, Nuggets-type rock. And the third is supposed to be epic.

“With the first album you’re getting in the mood to party. On the second one, you’re at the party. And the third album you’re cleaning up the mess,” he said.

¡Uno! will be rleased Sept. 25, followed by ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré! on Nov. 13 and Jan. 15. Check out the video below. Look for it to be played incessantly in your local bar.
