Jonas Brothers Band Sued by Irate Fan Injured at 2009 Concert

jonasbrothersJonas Brothers band has been named in a lawsuit stemming from a raucous free concert in May 2010. The woman who filed the suit in an apparent rush to beat the three-year statute of limitations, claims she was severely injured during the concert.

The Los Angeles woman, Ashleigh Johnson, has also sued Caruso Management Co., which runs the outdoor shopping mall where the concert took place.

The court papers, dug up by E! Online, were filed on Monday (Dec. 31), in Los Angeles. Johnson blames lax security and negligence for injuries she suffered when she was caught up in a throng of fans and slammed up against a security fence.

Both the band members, Joseph, Kevin and Nick Jonas, through their corporate entity Jonas Brothers Enterprises, as well as Caruso knew, or should have known, that fans might get out of hand, and should have taken precautions to prevent injuries.

The lawsuit claims she suffered “severe injury to her body and shock to her nervous system” in addition to “great mental … and nervous pain.”

The Jonas Brothers were the height of their popularity at the time. They concert was staged to promote their 2009 album Lines, Vines and Trying Times, according to MTV.

The band has since gone on hiatus, but is putting together new material for a new album to be released sometime this year. The set will include all new material.
