Lin-Manuel Miranda, who took Broadway by storm with the hit musical Hamilton, is showcasing his song writing talents in the Disney animated movie “Moana.”

Jemaine Clement voices Miranda’s song “SHINY” in a scene from the movie featuring Moana and a hermit crab.

The 3D computer-animated feature is a musical, fantasy, comedy and adventure story about Moana Waialiki (Auli’i Cravalho), the 16-year-old daughter of a village chief. She is given a stone that has the power to create life and raise islands.

Moana goes on a long voyage to give the stone back to its proper owner. Along the way, she encounters a menagerie of characters.

The cast also includes Dwayne Johnson, Rachel House, Temuera Morrison, Jemaine Clement, Nicole Scherzinger and Alan Tudyk.

Miranda was joined in writing the movie’s songs by Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina, who also wrote the score.

The lyrics are in English and the Tokelauan language.

The soundtrack peaked at number five on the Billboard 200 album chart. The two-disc deluxe edition and the digital deluxe edition soundtrack are available for sale or downloading.
